Chris was born and raised in Pennsylvania and grew up surrounded by signs—literally. His father and uncle were skilled sign makers in the days when hand painting was the standard. As a kid, Chris spent countless hours in the sign shop, watching his dad design and paint by hand, which sparked a lifelong passion for the craft.

After graduating high school, Chris joined the signage industry full-time, working alongside his father and brother. He mastered traditional techniques like hand lettering and vinyl application, and adapted with the times through the transition from neon to cutting-edge LED technology.

In 2008, Chris moved to Virginia Beach with his wife and 3 children and founded Beach Sign and Design with a mission to deliver high-quality, eye-catching signage that helps businesses stand out. Every electrical sign we produce comes backed by a 5-year warranty—a testament to our commitment to excellence and long-lasting results.

In 2025, Chris’s wife of 25 years, Shannan, joined the business, bringing over 16 years of project management experience from one of the largest national sign providers in the country. Her expertise in large-scale sign coordination, client service, and operational logistics brought a powerful new layer of capability to the company.

Together, Chris and Shannan bring more than 45 years of combined industry experience to every project, blending traditional craftsmanship with modern innovation. As a family-run business, we treat our clients like partners, working closely to create signage that leaves a lasting first impression.
